We maintain the N4VEM digipeater and packet node located on the roof of the Monroe Building in downtown Richmond, VA.

For handling traffic, VDEM-ARCA’s only currently supported method is via the Winlink system. We typically connect to the system using VARA FM to connect to a local gateway, and regularly test backup methods such as packet on VHF and Pactor or VARA on HF.

At this time, due to the level of coordination required, we do not support P2P messages during an activation. We will, however, do pre-coordinated P2P testing if requested. We are actively experimenting with various modes to broaden our support.
